K-pop star Sunmi will be bringing a Warning around the globe with her newly-announced world tour.

The singer, who rose to prominence as both a Wonder Girls member and a soloist in her own right, will be bringing her solo tour to Asia and North America in the first half of 2018, it was announced late Tuesday night (Jan. 15). The tour will kick off in Seoul on Feb. 24, and currently is set to end in Tokyo on May 23, though the announcement post promises “more” shows to come.

Venues have yet to be announced.

unmi released her first solo song “Full Moon” in 2013, and each single she’s released since has gone on to become an immense hit in the South Korean music scene, largely thanks to her dynamic lyrical narratives through which she explores ideas of femininity and love, and her captivating, theatrical performances.

Her 2017 hit song “Gashina” was one of the best songs of that year, and defined her identity as a soloist in a post-Wonder Girls world after the iconic act’s breakupthat January. Last year, she released the singles “Heroine” and “Siren” along with her Warning EP, which gives the tour its title.

Within hours of Sunmi’s tour being announced, the artist’s name trended worldwide on Twitter as fans expressed excitement over the news.

The North American dates of Sunmi’s Warning world tour are as follows:

March 6 — San Francisco

March 7 — Los Angeles

March 10 — Seattle

March 11 — Vancouver

March 13 — Calgary

March 15 — New York

March 16 — Toronto

March 18 — Washington D.C.

15 K-Pop Stars Who Performed ‘Baby Shark’

Pinkfong’s “Baby Shark” became the most recent viral hit to land on the Hot 100, where it debuted last week at No. 32, three years after its release in 2016. Over that time, the song went around the globe and went on to become a fan-favorite among young children.

Originating in South Korea, many, including the New York Times, have connected the song’s perpetuation to the popularity of other Korean creative content, and K-pop artists who have fans around the globe. While it’s unknown whether there’s any direct correlation between K-pop and the success of “Baby Shark,” it’s safe to say that “Baby Shark” is pretty popular among K-pop stars, with many of them performing the song and its dance moves.

Here are just a handful of the times K-pop stars have tried their hand at the viral hit.

Monsta X

Kihyun, Wonho, and Shownu put their spin on the song’s choreography.

Girls’ Generation’s Sunny

Other members of the act were not impressed by her rendition.

EXO’s Chen

Fellow EXO-CBX members Baekhyun and Xiumin chilled out in the background as Chen showed off his “Baby Shark” moves.

BTS’ Jimin

While not a full rendition, Jimin’s “Baby Shark” moment came out of excitement while in Japan.

Red Velvet

The act’s 2018 single “Power Up” had choreography that emulated a shark fin, but even before that Red Velvet was known for “Baby Shark”-ing.

Here’s a look at the “Power Up” choreography for good measure.

GOT7

Mark, Jinyoung, and BamBam danced while Youngjae provided music.

Mamamoo

The quartet had fun playing around as “Baby Sharks.”

iKON

The boy band cutely sung the song with spoons as their mics.

TWICE

Like several other acts on this list (Monsta X, Red Velvet, Mamamoo), TWICEperformed their entertaining version of the dance during an episode of Weekly Idol.

Wanna One

Jinyoung, Jihoon, and Guanlin danced as the other members watched on in awe.

BLACKPINK’s Lisa

She recently became the most-followed K-pop star on Instagram, and her “Baby Shark” rendition probably had nothing to do with it but it was adorable.

NCT Dream

The NCT act performed to the English version of the song in December at one of their Dream Show concerts.

TVXQ!’s Yunho

Before spending a day with children, the star took a few moments to learn the song’s choreography.

Nu’Est W’s Ren

Ren brought the laughs with his dramatic version of “Baby Shark.”

BLACKPINK

Don’t worry, Lisa wasn’t the only one who got to play at being a “Baby Shark.”

And though it’s unknown whether BLACKPINK’s single “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du,” which saw them debut on the Hot 100 chart at No. 55 last year, was inspired by “Baby Shark,” there is a remix.

GFriend Return With Expressive New Video For ‘Sunrise’

K-pop girl group GFriend brought the heat today (Jan. 14) with the release of their new single “Sunrise.”

“Sunrise,” the group’s first new track since the October release of Japanese single “Memoria,” starts off bright and pop-py over a playful beat before the members harmonize their way to the sort of expressive synth-pop the act is best known for. Impassioned vocals — especially from Eunha who ends off the song on a high note — and orchestral melodies turn the song from its sweet beginnings into a lushly dynamic ode to a “Sunrise”-like love.

The single was released alongside a music video that begins with a brief voiceover from Umji. “I had a dream yesterday,” she says. “Even though our time together was short, we were not separated from each other.” As the clip unfolds, it features the members of GFriend elegantly relaying the song’s powerful tune through charming winter scenes — both at home, in the streets, and in a forest — and charismatic choreography.

“Sunrise” fronts GFriend’s second LP Time For Us, which features a total of 13 tracks, including a Korean version of “Memoria” and an instrumental of the single. It is their first full-length album since 2016’s LOL, which was fronted by their single “Navillera.”

Since their start in 2015, GFriend has landed six albums on the World Albumschart. Most recently, their sixth Korean EP Time For The Moon Night peaked at No. 6 on the chart dated May 12 of last year.

City Girls & Cardi B Show Off Their Elite Twerking Skills in ‘Twerk’ Video

Last November, City Girls issued a challenge in hopes of discovering the world’s greatest twerker. The top 20 girls would get “flewed” out to Miami and join Yung Miami and Cardi B on the set of their music video “Twerk.” Though they announced the winner in December, on Wednesday (Jan. 16), City Girls released their visual headlined by a troupe of booty shaking savants.

Both painted in tiger stripes, Yung Miami and Cardi lead an endless twerk session on a huge yacht. With a pole in tow, the two MCs flaunt their crispy lyricism all while dancing alongside their bodacious counterparts. The titillating video reaches its climax when the girls hit the dirt and break into some next-level twerking. The mesermizing display will certainly drop some jaws, as both Cardi and Yung Miami redefine the meaning of twerk with their fun-filled visual
